Thought of a few more things i omited in the last entry and as this travelogue will serve as my memory in years to come as well as current entertainment for you lot, I thought i will record them for the future and risk boring you, hope you don't mind.

First things first a lot of strange coincidenses (sp?) keep happening on the island, I knew i would run into many people i recognised, even from Australia, case in point being the Guy two nights ago who swore he recognised me and i also had a feeling we had met before, after a few minutes we realised we had sat beside eachother on a bus from Sydney to Melbourne and arranged to meet at the Grand Prix with our collective groups of friends we were meeting in Melbourne (we didn't). Anyway weird as that was it turned out OK as he starts work a the Irish Bar the day after i leave on Friday!
The previous night i had the strangest of 'small world scenarios' a girl from Manchester was at the bar and hearing the accent i enquired as to which part she lived in. "Stockport" she said, and i told her of the time i spent in West Didsbury. She asked the usual questions like which pubs i went in and we discovered she knew a few of my friends from Toq H rugby club and in particular recalled a night where she went to the house of one of the wingers after the pub closed, well, he turned out to be Christian Pugh (My old housemate) and the house she went back to was ours, and the bedroom she described was MINE! so in conclusion
1. that was spooky meeting in a bar in Thailand, and
2. Christian, what the hell were you doing in my bedroom? (actually i don't want to know)

That night also provided another memory omitted from the last entry and recalled when a mate had a similar experience the next night and told me about it.
Mel and I, in all our drunken wisdom decided to go swimming in the bay at 3am! now this seemed like a great Idea at the time and the water was so warm we stayed a while and it was then we realised the glow from the water that everyone on the Island tells you about, and that has been immortalised in the film 'the beach' The bit where Leonardo takes a swim with Franscoise and they see the (excuse the speling) phospherance, a kind of swirling light that moves when you ripple the water with your hand. we must have looked very stupid standing in the water with palms outsretched on the surface laughing at what looked like a million miniture torches on the seabed. It stopped after a while and untill today when i remembered it i have been meaning to get the real explaination for the light. If anyone knows (AJ?) let me know!

Anyway hope that gave you a laugh at my expense but it is things like that i always forget to record and with some time on my hands til i go watch the new spiderman movie in a cafe on DVD i thought i would write them down!
take care people

Monday 13th
I had to update this as a few plans have changed since yesterday, I have decided to finish work a few days early, i.e. tonight being my last night at the bar, because Mel is coming back to Phi Phi after an aborted attempt to get to Kho Tao (rough seas,There is a god.) A very boring night later in Surat Thani persuaded her to return to the golden beaches and blue skies of Kho Phi Phi, and she arrives tomorrow lunch time! Woohoo!!
