We spent Christmas in Sydney, feeling slightly less guilty about not working as for once nobody else was either, catching up with Ozzie mates and hanging out with Brits who've made the wise decision to move there for a while. After 2 days of lounging on spectacular city beaches and rushing from one groovy cafe/restaurant to another, of which Sydney has an unfeasibly large amount of, both Zak and I were convinced we just had to emigrate - like the other 9000 Brits over for Christmas no doubt. New Year's was spent in Byron Bay, an hours flight north of Sydney at the eastern-most point of Australia, home of possibly one of the most stunning beaches in the world, King's Beach in Brokenhead National Park, and one of the most fabulous restaurants, Rae's on Wattegos beach. Thanks so much to our fab host Alan for letting us stay at his amazing apartment in The Rocks and whipping up an incredible seafood barbecue, to Nicola and Davis for throwing a sumptuous Christmas Day lunch in Bondi complete with Martha Stewart-esque edible place-settings (nice to see that MBA work finally paying off with something useful) and skillfully orchestrated post-feast games, to Robert for just being fab, and to my cousin Tanya for doing the sensible thing and moving thousands of miles away from the clan. PS something weird happened when downloading the pics here, hence the white-washed effect (not some attempt to airbrush wrinkles, honest..)
