After a leisurely start to our second and final day in cabo polonio we decided to have a stroll on the beach. The walk was nice and gave a picturesque perspective on the village and a few of its ramshackle dwellings which i wouldnt go as far as calling houses. They looked like hobbit houses they were that small. They weren't, however, without their charm as you can see from the photo below. Also note the owner's interesting angle on positive mental attitude displayed for all to see at the front. Hippies eh.

One less appealing aspect of the walk was the numerous deal sealion bodies that we had to walk past on the beach, swept in by the tide and dumped unceremoniously. I think we'll leave that there. We also had good views of the sand dunes once we were far enough away from the village.

After our stroll we went to a restaurant (or the only restaurant to be more exact) to have a drink. As Ott is partial for proper milk in her coffee and not that powdered crap they have here we made a point of checking first. The conversation went something like this:

Ott: Tiene leche fresca? (do you have fresh milk)
Waitress: leche fria? (cold milk)
Ott: Mmm, si, si, leche fria.
Waitress: bueno
Ott: Cafe con leche por favor.
Andy: suco de naranja por favor (orange juice)

In yet another language palava we managed to order two orange juices, two teas and a massive jug of hot milk as well. Amazing.

After getting the 4x4 buggy back to the park entrance we got the bus back to Montevideo. The joirney was long and we had an idiot couple in front of us who insisted on putting their chairs back so i basically had his jead on my lap the whole way. They also insisted on singing for a fair amount of the journey and generally annoyed me to the back teeth. Hippies eh.

I can't imagine for the life of me what is unappealing about walking past dead sealion corpses on a beach. Call me old fashioned
