Where I stayed
After our fun at Hot Water Beach, we got on the road to Coromandel itself. We took the costal route and stopped off to see the famous Cathedral Cove. The weather was still gorgeous which made the walk to the cove pretty warm so Andy reunited with his long-lost friend, his sweat. (Hehe!)
On the way to the Cove we stopped off at Gemstone Beach and Stingray Beach, which gave Andy lots of photography opportunities. The camera we were bought for our wedding present from Tim, Elise, Amadi, Akudo, Asanga, Zareen and Nick is absolutely awesome and we've loved it. A big thank you to you all again, it's been so good to capture our honeymoon memories!
After a slow walk we got to Cathedral Cove
We stopped off for lunch on Whitianga Beach (which was ok but nothing to get too excited about). We got out our gas stove for the first time to heat up some tomato and basil soup... We feel like proper fully-fledged campers now we've used it! We even washed up in the tiny sink in the back of Evelyn... Another first!
After some more costal roads and a stop off at a lookout over the peninsular, we arrived in Coromandel, picked up some food and then drove up to Colville. We had timed it to be almost sunset and it was a very picturesque drive. Colville beach was literally covered in sea shells... Every step we took with a loud 'crunch' sound - not seen anything like it before! Made me feel bad for breaking them so we walked on the grass as much as poss.
All in all we had a wonderful day! Looking forward to the quarter finals tomorrow and cheering on England... Though if I'm honest, the universe is telling me that the French will win. I keep seeing lots of little French messages around me (like colours, flags, names etc) so I've go a bit of a bad feeling about it, but fingers crossed I'm wrong!
COME ON ENGLAND!!
Lots of love,
Mrs. M xx
