Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Well, I have been in Mexico for about a month now and am getting settled in. When I first got here I went to stay with the host family I lived with last time I was here. When I arrived, she sent me to live with her daughter and her husband and two little kids, Diego (2) and Paula (6mos.). That is where I have been staying up until now. But yesterday, I rented an apartment, at least I think I did. I gave a landlord money anyway. Things here are done differently than in the states and contracts and such are not so popular. She would have written me a contract that said whatever I wanted, but could have just as easily denied that it was her signature later.
When looking for an apartment here I took my uncle Rons advice and looked for what it could be, not necessarily what it was. Needless to say, the place is not perfect, but with a coat of paint and various repairs, it will be more than inhabitable. Some people might describe the place as "broke down" or "ugly," but I prefer the adjectives, "rustic" and "funky." It has a lot of pros and cons, but most of all I like the fact that it is in a great location and that there is a view. It is up on the roof of a three-story building and is set up so that to walk from the kitchen/dining room to the bedroom, you walk over the roof (which I refer to as the terrazita). I will post pictures next week.
Well, Esme and I are doing great. I am really glad that I made the choice to come down here to be with her. We are going to spend Christmas whith her family in Uruapan and from there go to Puerto Vallarta for new years. This will basically be the opposite of every holiday season I have ever had. What is normally skiing and snow-men will be replaced with swimming and sand castles.
Please write to me. I am really interested in subjects like winter. What is that like? Also, I am often on msn messenger in the early morning and the evening, look for me there. I should have a phone in about a week too!
Love,
Andy

Feliz Navidad!!
Hey Andy,
How are ya, buddy? Pretty good here...just freezing my ass off in Spokane...but not for long, pretty soon I'll be enjoying the beautiful rain in Seattle! I am moving there the first week of January to Queen Anne-yeah!
I am glad to here that you are happy with your decision to go to Mexico and that you and Esme are great. I'm happy for you.
It has been freezing here, nearly zero at night and we got lots of snow a couple of weeks ago, some of which has melted a bit into ice, and it that seems to be lingering everywhere! I haven't gone skiing or the like this year, as I'm trying not to break any limbs this holiday season:) (Plus, there is no one to teach me how:()
Well, I hope all is going well for you and hope to see you sometime soon. Miss you!
Jen
Hola Lukes
What is up Lukes. It was great hearing from and you and it is reat hearing you and Esme are doing well. Today I am officially a college graduate. I am finishing final in about an hour and what lies ahead for me next, I have no idea. Hopefully some skiing. Anyway enough about me, sounds like your apt is interesting but cool nonetheless. Make sure to take care of yourself and give my best to Esme. Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas and all of that. Keep in touch. Your Pal, Jimmy
P.S. How's the skiing down there? HAHA
To the true optimist :)
Andy--
You have a very special way of making everything seem exciting :) I am sure if I was in your apartment situation I would be freaking out and making Jared clean, but not you, you always sound like such an optimist-- which is great. Did you ever get your cab?? Well anyways I better get back to packing-- Jared and I are moving back to Olympia sometime before Jan 5th. I hope you and Esme have a wonderful holiday. I would much rather be sticking my hands into a pile of sand instead of the snow :) Take care and make sure and make your way up to see us when you visit everyone on the Westside :)
Take Care
Ricci and Jared-- and our home full of pets :)
FELICIDADES JIMMY!!!!!!!
Hey Jimmy, that is great news that you graduated. I am really happy for you. I know that your dad would be proud of you too. I wish you all the best of luck from here, and with your attitude, I know life has great things in store for you. Congratulations, Andy.
Feliz Navidad y como estas?
Hola Andy,
Como fue su viaje a Mexico? Se parace que su apartemento es el mismo de mi coche? 'Your car is falling apart'.
Suerte,
Lukes
