We headed off on an adventure with Lilly, Kush and some of their Friends. It started by leaving Villa Oceania at 3am!!!! That's not holidaying!! We all piled in a lovely bus and headed off on the long journey to Kandy. Had a very brief look around went to the lake and then back on the bus for Nuwara Ellya. This was our first night stop, we checked into a really nice European style hotel and then went off for an adventure in town, a little boat ride in the rain???
Day to we drove up to Horton Plans to do a hike in Worlds End. Awesome hike (have a look at the photos) it took about 4 hours including Bakers falls, then back on the bus to head to Adams Peak. We were all meant to hike up this at 2am for the sunrise I however piked it as I was not up for 5200 stairs in the middle of the night with no sleep (I also may just not be up for it had I have had some sleep ha-ha). We then spent the whole day waiting around as some of the people of the trip took 14hrs to do it!! Poor things must have been exhausted. Lil of course did it in 5.5hrs. That afternoon/night we headed to our last stop before Andy and I said goodbye and headed south.
In the morning we said our Goodbyes and Andy and I took a dip in the river next to the hotel which is meant to stop you sweating for the day!! Once again waited for our late taxi and then headed back into Colombo.
The journey into Colombo was interesting the taxi driver was completely nuts on the ride, even Andy was going what the!! Any way we survived and headed to the train station for our journey down to Hikkawuda. This was my first of I am sure many encounters with the truly disgusting public toilets!! Aghhhhhhhhhh it makes me feel ill at the thought, but all part of the trip!! Lucky we have the anti bacteria wash!!
