We woke up this morning to the sound of birds and frogs. Francesca woke us up around 7 am in order to take us back into the national park to see more wild life. According to her, most birds and other animals are more active in the morning. So during our morning tour, we saw toucans, hawks, herons, crocodiles, iguanas and kingfishers. The only problems is the wildlife are far away and even once we stop the boat to see them, it still takes me a while to find the creatures that are hiding in the trees. I guess this is how the creatures are able to blend into the environment to prevent predators from catching them.
While we were having lunch at the small resturant on the side of the canal, I got curious and I asked how thing are run in Costa Rica. Apperantly, the government only tax people who make more than $2400 a month. People pay their taxes in 3-4 installments. The biggest hoildays are Easter and Christmas/New years time. And medical care is socialized medicine. For emergencies its all free, but for none life threatening issues, people must wait like a clinic visit sometimes can take up toi 3-6 months.
For the rest of the day, we took the long boat ride back to Moin then to San Jose. We arrived at San Jose with out much problems.
