Where I stayed
This morning started with my short trip with Jessica in search of that rare Leatherback turtle shell. We left the hotel around 710 am and was able to find the shell within 15 minutes. I couldnīt remember the exact location of the shell, but we found the turtle shell getting washed up further inland close by our hotel. Because it is too heavy and it is in itīs advanced stage of decompsition, Jessica told me that she will contact the local scientists today to pick it up as a specimen for the local museum.
My tour bus arrived around 745 am for my Ballestas Island tour. This island is known for its wildlife colony of sea birds, penguins and sea lions. It is very interesting to see millions of birds all nesting on the cliffside
My second tour is the visit to Paracas national park. This is not as interesting as the Ballestas island trip since it only includes a stop at the local museum, stop at the cliff lookout and lunch at a small seaport of Lagunilla. The cliff lookout was very impressive with hundreds of feet dropping straight into the ocean. For lunch I had cerviche again but I asked for scallops instead of fish,Yum.
After lunch I was transfer back to the city of Pisco for my bus to Nazca. It is quite depressing tohave to return to Pisco because of the severe earthquake damage. People are lining up( VERY LONG LINE) for the free medical services from volunteer physicians and nurses. I am kind of interestedin helping out but my time here is just too short.
This evening I will on the bus to Nazca to see the infamous Nazca lines.
