4th - Passed border without being searched and headed off to Nouadhibou and spotted the world's longest train - the iron ore train.  Changed the front right hand tyre again as a bubble had appeared.  Sat in a local shop while a guy changed currency for us, he played some Bob Marley for us and made 2 cups of mint tea for us, it made for an enjoyable encounter.

5th - Headed on the road down to Nouakchott, nothing but traditional images of the desert.  Had a complete blowout on the outer right han tyre...3rd tyre in 3 days, 1 spare left.

6th - Went to the Fish Market, but it's definetely worth going between 4 and 6pm since nothing much was happening in the morning Views of desert on the first day

 . Spent the day at the hostel, not many went into the centre to see any other sites.

7th - Left to travel towards Nema in the east of the country, passing through Boutilimit and Aleg, bush camping east of Sangrafa. Temp hit 38C inside the truck around midday.

Dist cov. = 412 km

8th - Passed through Kiffa and Tintane stopping 1km short of Ayoun el-Atrous. Temp hit 39C today.

Dist cov. = 369 km

Total dist cov. = 4778 km

9th - Went through Ayoun el-Atrous, Timbedgha and Nema before trying to head up to Oualata. Temp hit 40C in back of truck...oh how fun that was.  Had our 1st bogging in sand tyring to turn around, took 20 mins to dig out..it ended up that we didn't need to turn around.  Tried to cross an old river canal later on that was all soft sand, resulting in 2hrs of sandmatting and digging. Camped on the other side of the canal.
