Woke up to pissing down rain again and decided we should move on. We still couldn't get in contact with Pers, so we went into the nearby town to do some internetting, then bought some whole fresh trout that had been caught in the Lake Bohinj, for just five euros a kilo.
In the afternoon we attempted to drive through the mountains to the town of Bovec, but halfway there we came across a road closure with a gnarly dirt road deviation, which put paid to that plan. Instead we drove down to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, and checked into a campsite, from which we finally got in touch with Pers and arranged to go down to Trieste to meet him the following day.
For dinner, Andrew cooked the trout Dalmatian style, whole and crispy-skinned, stuffed with garlic and onion....mmmmmm.
The following morning we ducked into Ljubljana for a quick look around. It is quite a cool little city, set on a river, with tons of cafes and stylish people cruising around checking each other out. We walked up to the castle, which was not that spectacular, had a quick bite to eat then hit the road for Trieste.
