After a flurry of last minute preparations we left home this morning. We started the trip with an easyJet flight to Madrid, where we will spend the night before catching our long-haul flight to Peru. We got some lunch in the airport before our flight was called, taking the opportunity to use up the remainder of our British money. The flight itself was uneventful and, after collecting our bags, we set out to walk the twelve miles between arrivals and the airport metro station (okay, I'm exaggerating, but it was a long way). We are staying in U Hostels tonight. It only opened in 2012 and can best be described as a boutique backpackers hostel. Nice feel to it, and (according to Jen) lots of useful features to make backpackers' lives easier! Neither of us felt like having a proper sit-down Spanish meal tonight so we walked along to a Domino's Pizza that we saw earlier on. No complaints from either of us!
