Fine day 22 degrees.
Arrive in Dunedin just on 7am. We go for breakfast first as we are not in a hurry to leave as we have our train trip booked for today and we need to catch the bus at 8.30
We finish breakfast and then head off the ship, our bus is there waiting for us and before long we are on the drive to meet the train at the Dunedin railway station.
We are going for the 6 hour train ride on the Taeri Gorge Railway up into the mountains around Dunedin.
The train departs shortly after 9.30am on the drive up to Middlemarch.
The train is very comfortable and the seats are really soft, the scenery is nice and very different to what we see at home. It would be really nice to come here and do the train ride in winter as it snows all the way up the mountain. We arrive at Middlemarch just after 12pm. There is not really much to do, as it is only a small town of 250 people. There is a pub and people having a sausage sizzle, but apart from that there is not really much here.
We catch the train back down the mountain and arrive back at the ship just before 4.30pm.
Have a quick walk around the ship and its back to the cabin to get ready for dinner.
After dinner we head to the cafe promenade to get a good seat for the dreamworks parade.
The parade was full of color and all of the characters from shrek and Madagascar.
It does make the promenade very crowded and the first time we have really seen it like this.
After the parade we head to the show lounge to watch Jonathan Clarke and Coleen Austen perform on the same show. I prefer to watch him as he is both a singer and comedian.
After the show it is time for bed at 10.30pm after another busy day.
