Ouch, hangover it was 11:30 when we woke. Erica coult not be moved till about 1pm in the afternoon. thankfully everyone felt the same, the hangovers from red wine come flooding back, not nice. A quick jump in the pool and I started to feel semi concious. Bacon, Eggs and beans cooked on the barbeque made a nice start to the day, though Lady E was still unconsious.

We decided to give a ride on cols huge motorbike a miss and umped in the car to head into town. First we stopped at the wicked camper van rental company to try and delay picking up the van so we could go camping with the guys for a few days. Some of the vans looked like absolute tips but the one we would have had (had we picked up on time) looked ok. Mind you we checked the prices we had paid to tell Sonja and Col and they were amazed we pay $27 dollars a day (about 15) for Australia which is our expensive leg, New Zealand is much cheaper it took some time to get their but I'm quite happy with that price when you see how expensive everything is. The offers when collecting the van were turn up naked for one free day or flash your boobs to the staff for a free bottle of bubbly.

we then did a quick tour picking up bits and bobs and we managed to find a free camping book. Rorie suspected the special price would not apply in Aus but our first major purchase in a normal shop and we managed to get 10% taken off it.

We then drove down the esplanade and had a look around before heading North up the coast to Ellis beach where we sat at a beach front bar and had a beer with chips and gravy, wow that is just about everything we have missed from home done in two days. The beach was stunning and so quiet and the eather so nice today, sunshine and about 27 degrees.

Only 15 minutes away from the beach and we were in the heart of the rainforest in a small town called x full of Aboriginal Art and craft shops. We stopped and had another beer at a really good Aussie pub which decided to brand itself as an Irish pub for some reason before heading back.

Feeling very tired from the night before we had a few G&T's a few bottles of red wine, Sonja cooked a mean prawn pasta and we went to bed. Tomorrow is the premier social event of the year in the whole North of Queensland and we are going to lower the tone.

Make sure ye go to the Woolshed Pub in Cairns guys, it only gets goin around 1 and discount on the food there if ye r stayin in one of the hostels in the town. Judging by how horrified you are by the price of everything though (as i did mention to ya several times in China) then you probably wont be particularly happy with just a 10% discount so best of luck!!!!!!! Also if yer doin a reef tour, then Reef Magic are quite good but they all are pretty much the same anyway really (expensive).
