Last night we arrived in Ao Nang (Krabi). The bus from the airport dropped us outside the hotel we wanted to go to, Aree Tara Resort, however on arrival they would not agree to match the online price I had found through one of the online booking companies. They would not budge below 1300 Bhat but I knew I could get it online for 900 Baht. In the end we had to walk to a bar with wifi and book the hotel online before returning and giving them our booking reference. The woman in reception appeared most annoyed by the cheek and arrogance however I have to say this is the most expensive hotel we have stayed in 20 a night but Asiarooms confirmed our saving for 3 nights from peak season booking price as 22,700 Baht (about 450). We still saved 30% off by the quick walk to the bar. It just seems stupid to not agree to the Asiarooms price as they will also take a cut or a booking fee from them so they actually get less money than if they agreed. Anyway the woman in reception continued to blank us for the next three days.

We woke up late after a really good nights sleep in our beautiful hotel room, complete with bath, tv, telephone, balcony and even some towels shaped in to Elephants.  We spent a while in bed just reading, watching the news and sitting in the bath relaxing etc. We dragged ourselves out of the air conditioned room at about lunch time and went to the Swiss Cottage for our second Pad Thai in Thailand.  It didnt disappoint.  We then went for a walk around town, Ao Nang is so charming, before coming back to sit around the pool and have a swim, sunbathe and a read. It was a world away from our experiences over the last couple of weeks.  We sat out for the rest of the afternoon, it did rain so we did have stages inside, well it is the rainy season. We didn't eat much, just a couple of boiled eggs from the 7-11 and some instant noodles, but we did have quite a few Nescafe creamy 3 in 1's,which I have become a little addicted to.  What a luxury to have a kettle!!!

We went back to the Swiss Cottage that evening for a few drinks and to use their free WIFI, we were able to publish all of our Myanmar blogs now that we were at a relatively safe distance.  We got an email from Rorie and Emer 'Just checking in on the Stephensons' and found out that they are still in Thailand and literally just across the water on Phi Phi so we all suggested that we meet up  one last time, for old times sake, and cross the border in to Malaysia together.  The restaurant was packed mainly with English tourists eating fondue, yes, all very strange - we almost asked for a Shepherds Pie with gravy.  Or was that Cottage Pie Mike?  I can never quite remember.
