What a great nights sleep!!! I woke at about 7:30. Our boat was leaving at 9 so I did my washing. The day before when the little girl was being sick a smell on the bus made me also feel sick. This morning I realised that smell was me not the sick. It took about 4 pre washes (in a bucket of salty water) before I even dared add soap powder. The soapy water was instantly black so I decided on 3 rinses rather than more soap. Anyway this prompted me to go and look for more clothes. I found a second hand shop which was selling clothes donated by western charities. Bizarrely the only T shirts in my size consisted of a T shirt I need a picture of (purely to show Rorie and Emer as I think Rorie should be wearing it) and some kind of blue t shirt that says I am a hill farmer or something. Anyway they were a bargain at less than a pound each and perfect for snorkelling in.

We got in a bit of a row with the boat owners who wanted us to go on a more expensive trip, as they did not have enough passengers on ours, however we soon agreed we would go on the more expensive trip with no cost implication. We set of with our new comrades a Russian girl called Elina and a Parisian called Elie (who turned out to be a boy so we didn't mention niece Ellie). They were nice travel partners for the day. When Elina was taking pics of E and I she ordered us down slippery hillsides and Erica slipped once then didn’t follow as she was ordering me down slippery paths, oddly she actually had to help me down a few of them before dictating exactly what she did and didn’t want on the picture. Elina, I think was some kind of dominatrix as she kept ordering me to take photographs of her, then after three or four minutes preparing would say "ok now I am ready take the photo now" it’s clearly just a language thing but I was just waiting for the “ok lick the toilet seat now before I spank you”.

Well it was fair to say that El Nide itself wasn’t a hit with me at first but my word the views and the places we visited today simply took our breath away absolutly incredible, the snorkelling, the coral, caves and beaches were simply out of this world. We had a great lunch of freshly caught fish off the bak of the boat, chicken, rice, salad and bananas. Best quote of the day Lady
E, "This is the mother funchen life".

We had decided before today to change our mind and get a flight back to go and see the rice terraces. I think we were a little indesicive but we couldn’t even make up our minds if we were or not. Anyway after today we have sacked the rice terraces once and for all and are staying here visiting more tropical islands with huge limestone cliffs that are uninhabited. This place is simply magical. Check the pics. We then went back to our cottages and drank more tanduay worrying that this stuff is not actually dark rum at all but petrol.

We finished the evening in a lovely bar and restaurant called 'Alternative' which was gorgeous and were are sure they do colonic irrigations so might get that done before we leave, no I am joking, it is a healing centre and wellness place the irridation just sounds good.  Anyway it is a very romantic place to eat by candle light with beanbags and lounging areas right on the beach.  Totally recommended if anyone is in the area - Sharks and Raynor get your butts over here!  Sure your Grandma would forgive you in time!

Awesome! I followed your blog from day 1 in your stay here in the Philippines. You made me jump to El Nido right now. Its been my long time dream to go there and even imagine myself living there one day. All the blogs i have read are praises on the place. I agree you should not miss the Rice Terraces. May you both continue to enjoy your journey and discover more of the Philippines.
