After a bit of a lie in (i.e. Steve had gone to work, the kids had gone to school) we headed down to the pool. We both swiped in our access cards before getting our bands and lockers for the pool. The lady however needed to inspect our cards to confirm we were residents. As you will have read on the blog two days ago Steve provided us with Octopus cards which are ID for the apartment and facilities. It is fair to say Steve has not lost his sense of humour at all and after reading the blog and looking at my ID as Fransisco de Paulo gave E his sisters card and with extreme pleasure me his brother in laws card. Steve's brother in law is a black man so it would be fair to say looks even less like me than Fransisco de Paulo.

Erica Edit:  Despite his attempts at a base tan.

Anyway we didn't think we would actually have our ID's checked but to get into the swimming pool they do need your ID if they dont recognise you. While they looked at Erica's picture on her card then glanced at her face there was no real issue. I gave my card with the ID picture face down, she turned it over looked at the I picture then looked up at me. A little shocked she looked back down at the picture then looked up at me again. I smiled and without any further ado she slid my card back to me, we were in stitches as we got our sunbeds next to the outdoor pool.

We did very little except swim, sunbathe, read and jump in and out of the jacuzzis and hydrotherapy pools. Much to Steve's disgust we didn't use the childs pool slide so maybe that is a task for another day.

At about 4pm we headed back in to find we were burnt very badly. We messed about with the laptop looking at potential flights out of HK then Skyped my mum and dad for the first time in 3 months. Steve's Indonesian helper Rica had cooked for us tonight so we had a fantastic meal of a tofu curry and a chicken curry with a type of crushed rice that is formed into the texture of potatoes and some fried chicken. I have asked Rica if I can help her cook, I think she things I am mad but I know that I will probably pay about 10 or 15 quid for an Indonesian cooking lesson. No doubt when the financially astute Mr T reads this he will be chasing me for the money himself.
