Woke early to a bowl of free cereal in the hostel. Erica had the left over pancakes from the Russian pancake tasting on Friday night. They have evaporated milk on their pancakes !!!

Erica edit: Not all the left over pancakes (though some of you might believe it) only two!

Went for a quick walk around St Petersburg and took in the following sights:
Church of our Savior on spilled blood
The Hermitage
Eternal flame symbolising the siege of Leningrad
Winter Gardens
May park
The Peter and Paul fortress
Peter and Paul cathedral
Nevsy Prospekt
All the frozen rivers, (found a man ice fishing on one)
St Isaac's cathedral (we climbed to the top of the spire)
many others we cant remember.

We got back after six hours non stop walking and were knackered.

The most bizarre thing was the huge chunks of snow and ice falling from the buildings roofs onto unsuspecting members of public walking along the pavements, really dangerous.

Ate a piece of bread filled with mushrooms and rice, Erica had a cake (not a patch on Gregg's) total spend about 60p.

Got back to the hostel and blew the rest of the budget on huge cans of Baltika 3 and 2 bottles of vodka and a 50p piece of pizza. Stayed up till 3am keeping the rest of the hostel awake with us.  Great crowd here, an Aussie, 2 Brazillian girls who we may stay with in Sao paulo, a Californian, 2 Koreans and a Londoner. Vodka here is lovely, you have a shot of ice cold vodka say cheers in Russian chink glasses with everyone, down it then eat a gurkin, trust me it works well. Cant remember bed.

Cant get any photos on at the moment.
