Where I stayed
Forgive us for combing a couple of days into one here as we have been out and about and doing a lot.
Spent our last two days in Prague at the castle and in the old town square, after meandering through the Jewish quarter and also at Vyšehrad. We had our first supermarket challenge to see who could get the best deal out of £5 each to spend on food for the whole day (we did get free breakfast at the hostel so made good use of that). Lee-Sia went for chicken hearts and noodles, and i made a pasta mess with luncheon meet and spicy tomato sauce!
We also participated in our first traffic accident, when our public bus back to the hostel pulled out and collided with a motorcycle, luckily no one was hurt and it was only one stop from our destination; so the get out and walk didn't pose an inconvenience
Vyšehrad is an older fort / castle site overlooking the river, and we spent a nice couple of hours in the grounds, doing a couple of cross words and chilling out before making our way into town for a traditional Czech meal and onto the airport.
We had been monitoring the French Strike action closely and luckily EasyJet decided that the Prague to Paris route was one they would keep going, although it turned out that we were delayed by 1.5hrs.
Our Traditional Czech meal consisted of a beef goulash, Greek cucumber salad (not really trying to pass that off as Czech) and sausage and beans. Was actually pretty good hearty winter food, so perhaps not the most appropriate for a summers day, but it was cheap and filled us up.
Onto Paris next and the from the city of spires ..... to the city of lights!
