Today I decided to take it easy, just walked along the cliffs and stopped and had a swim whenever it took my fancy. The Mediterranean water is something to experience, it is beautiful. When you are travelling on your own, time to think and relax is in abundance. I loaded over 600 songs onto my iPod before leaving Australia and just listening to music whilst walking around Malta was fast becoming my favourite pastime. At home I am always going somewhere, trying to get to something and normally rushing to my destination. This holiday I had organised was the exact opposite. I would go hours without speaking a word to anyone, it might sound weird but having so much time alone with my thoughts and just soaking in the atmosphere of Malta was uplifting for the soul!
Svetlana told me that Wednesday night (tonight) is the first big night of the week at Paceville, the nightlife capital of Malta
Anyway going out on my own is not something I would normally do, believe me, I am too cool for that... ;) But I am in another country and on holidays so I am here for a good time and I was charged. Cutting a long story short I met this girl from Holland, Christina and I had a lot of fun. There is this Salsa club here, they have this guy on stage teaching people how to dance the Salsa moves from 8-10 and then afterwards everyone dances the night away as well as they can. Christina and I had a blast there, the place was packed. I was carving the dance floor with my salsa moves intertwined with a few of my own dance steps of course. We were on fire! Christina is on a working holiday and has a job in one of the 5 star hotels on the island of Gozo. We are planning to catch up again some time soon which is great, sorry mum, she is not a Maltese girl but I met her here...does that count? :)

Walking to St Julians from Sliema.
. I mentioned earlier that she has planned a big night on Friday with some of her friends but I thought I would take a look for myself tonight, to see what the fuss was all about. What can I say, Paceville is incredible. It is like a few blocks in a sleepy suburb of St Julians that comes to life at night. There were people absolutely everywhere spilling onto the streets between various nightclubs and bars. I mean it is not unlike King's Cross in Sydney but if you could see it during the day you would not believe the change that comes over the place.Anyway going out on my own is not something I would normally do, believe me, I am too cool for that... ;) But I am in another country and on holidays so I am here for a good time and I was charged.
