Georgetown doesn't have enough to keep me here any longer so me and 5 people in the dorm decide to move on the Langkawi.

Langkawi is a tourist destination for the Malay people and is also a Duty Free zone. We expect beaches, island touring and cheap drinking. We are not disapointed.

After an early morning running about in the usual hangover daze, we set off to Langkawi by boat and arrive 3hrs later at the hostel. There is a stunning beach with enough people on it to have an atmosphere, but not crowded.The usual Reggae bars and people with Jet Skis, banana boats etc. are all present and correct and the beer (from the shop) is a quarter of what we have been paying.

We settle in and meet the other people in the dorm and decide to spend the rest of the day on the beach, drinking beer.

This is the kind of place that I need. I haven't seen a beach in what seems like forever and I am glad to have sand in between my toes and the sun on my back. I may even start the Sun burn rating again... which is currently Red (not painful) with a hint of brown.
