After an early wake up call, I fell out of bed to catch the bus. Luckily the bus was only 30mins late (i'm getting used to it) and we set off for Penang, 4hrs away.

5hrs 30mins later, I arrived 10kms away from Georgetown and took a taxi to where I was going to stay. Georgetown is UNESCO World Heritage site, but its hard to see why. It looks like any other large Asian city (traffic, open sewers, etc), but there should be enough to fill a day of sight seeing and then onwards.

When I get out of the taxi and check into my room, I decide to see a couple of sites before dinner. These were the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, which I couldn't get into because it had closed for the day, and the Oriental and Eastern Hotel, which is just a big, expensive hotel with a history (like Raffels in Singapore).

After dinner, I went back to my dorm to find Jamie, a guy I met in the Cameron Highlands, drinking with 2 french guys. We sat drinking for most of the night and went for Indian. They convinced me that their dorm was much better and cleaner for the same price, so I decided to check out of my current place and head for theirs place tomorrow.
