I was up early to get on a tour of the Highlands. The bus set off at 8:45am and off we went. A couple of girls from my place were also on the tour so we hung out for the day. We started in a unremarkable Chinese Temple that had some nice big statues of Buddha, but not allot else.

Then onto the Butterfly farm which only had 3 types of Butterfly, but lots of large and interesting insects like Rhino Beetles (a beetle the size of my fist) and stick and leaf insects that actually look like sticks and leafs. Our guide told us all about them and picked them up so we could hold them. He did the same with a scorpion and asked me to hold it the same way as he did. That was quites scary, and when his body curled up so that he could get fingers I was a bit worried, but I have still have my fingers so it all worked out.

After that, we went to a strawberry farm that was very similar to the ones in england. However, the ice cream and milkshakes they made there were worth the trip.

We then saw the Tea Plantation and after a quick tour of how the tea is prepared, we were allowed to buy some at the Tea shop. The Plantation was huge and we could see nothing but tea plants for miles around. The tea was good too.

Then onto a Bee farm which was just rubbish and back to our backpackers. We had some lunch and decided to go trekking. The trail we chose was well signposted we were told so off we went. We could even find the start of the trail as the LP maps are really out of date. After a hour of walking around and asking people, we eventually found the start and 15mins later, we found a waterfall that was very pretty, a couple photos later we set off again.

We were expecting signs to other trails and confirmation that we were on the right path but none came. We continued in the blind hope that we would eventually find something we recognised and after 2hrs, we came the road we expected. We now had a problem. We only had 1hr of light and didn't want to go back over the trail so we decided it be easier (as there as 3 of us) to hitch-hike. This was probably the easiest travelling I have done in Malaysia, although I don't recommend doing it on your own, we got in a car which would take us to the main road after just 5mins of waiting.

We said our thank-yous and flagged down the next pickup truck and he took us into town and we got back just before it started to rain. We then all went for dinner and drinking at the bar.
