Race day!
We get up early in an attempt to beat the crowds and make for an easy day, it doesn't happen. Instead we get up at 9:30am for breakfast and are at the Bus station for 10:30am. There is a shuttle bus from the station to the circuit, however, there is no queue, just a mass of people trying to get on the bus when it arrives. It is not easy and we miss the first bus, only to be pushed on the second one, 10mins later.
Once we get on the bus, the journey is an easy 60mins until we get to the track. Thousands of people are already here and we set off for our entry gates. There are stands everywhere selling Motorbikes and accessories, to souvenirs, food and drink. There lots of very hot Asian girls draped over the bikes and lots of men (me included), taking photos (to be put on-line later, don't worry). Kawasaki had the best looking girls, in my opinion, but when the photos go up you can judge for yourself.
We get there to see the 125cc race finish and then the 250cc race, but we are waiting for the Moto GP and there is a noticeable change in the stands as the bikes line up. Even armed with my ear plugs, the noise is deafening as they start the race and it is totally absorbing. Riders swapping places and they fly past down the start/finish straight so fast, if you blink you'll miss it. Rossi finished 1st (obviously) with Pedorsa 2nd and Dovizoso 3rd. James Toseland crashed on the 2nd lap and Lorenzo crashed out a few laps later.
Trying to leave the track was like any big event. Hectic, hot and bothered we waited in a bigger crowd for the same bus and as 3 went past without us getting on, we decided to get a taxi instead. This is far easier and didn't cost very much (RM20, GBP3.30).
After we got back, we had dinner, beers and watched the football. A good day all round!
