Flying from Banda Aceh, I was a little sad to leave Sumatra. I had been there for 29days so my visa was about to run out. I needed to leave.

KL is a modern city somewhere between Phnom Phen and Singapore in terms of modernisation. Transport is on time (and has a schedule) and the place where I am staying even has hot water. Two things I have missed in Indo.

Beer is freely available here and I decide to take full advantage of the roof top bar in my backpackers. There, as usual I meet most of my dorm who have been drinking for a while and we have the usual travelers conversations and a few Tiger beers.

Then it rains., heavily. Like a monsoon.

Luckily it is still warm and most of the people in the bar don't care so we continue to drink into the night. The bar floods so that we ankle deep in it, but the beer keeps flowing and the good times keep coming. It was a nice introduction to KL and the people who are staying there. Most are here for only a couple of days, but I am here for at least 6 nights for the Moto GP. No-ones seems to be that excited about it except me, oh well. Today I am shopping for new headphones and a Malaysian Lonely Planet and I need to check some flights.
