The Chinese communist regime may not be keeping up its word on holding a free election in Hong Kong, that doesn't seem to faze the anyone around here. It's already one of the largest and most impressive downtown on Earth and it's far from over. Everywhere you go you hear jack drills running endlessly. They're making everything bigger, nicer, fancier, pricier. It's one of those places where you think to yourself: "I won't recognize it when I come back again in twenty years from now".

I originally thought that this would serve as a good introduction to China, and it will, but under many aspects Hong Kong has more to do with London, England or New York city than mainland China. A fascinating city.

Just happen to see your blog and good to see that you find HK interesting. You are right, HK will look differnt even if you come back in 2 years.
