Well, I've been back in Delhi for two days.. Had to send some stuff home from the post office, had help with that so... No problem (also no adventure), did a LITTLE bit of shopping, checked out Cannaught Place (the shopping "mall" in Delhi)... Bought some Punjab emcee music that was recommended by Ameena's brother that I know I'll like, and another disc recommended from the kid at the CD store (we'll see). As I said before, went to Gandhi Smriti which is the house where Gandhi spent his last 140 days and then where he was assasinated... His final footsteps are in raised concrete up until the place where he was shot. Sad, but neat to see. Really cool museum, actually, and I also bought his autobiography at the bookstore there as well as a little coffee-table type book (soft cover- Maybe more for the kitchen table..) about the place. I sent that one home but am carrying the autobiography- will have plenty of time on the bus to read the whole thing... I was told that the bus from Delhi to Jaipur is about five hours... And THEN, after I booked the ticket... (typical.. So typical...) was told that the bus actually drives around Delhi picking people up from different stops for some three hours before you actually leave Delhi. An interesting detail to find out later. But you see, the actual bus ride from Delhi to Jaipur is, indeed, five hours. It's funny, because nobody is trying to sell you something you don't want.. It's just not how it's thought of, really.. The driving around part is just time, not journey. "Computerized" Train Times
"Computerized" Train Times
..God. So, I will arrive in Jaipur some eight hours after boarding the bus at 8 (? give or take, I'm sure) tonight, which puts me in at 4AM, which completely jacks my first day (one of only two) in Jaipur. But.. I'll find a way to sleep on the bus. I have a train ticket to Udaipur on the 10th (overnight) but will book my train ticket from Udaipur back to Delhi from Jaipur. I only want to be in Delhi for enough time to safely get from the train station to the airport to catch my flight out of here to Trivandrum.. ..Over it. And then, goodbye, North! Finally. I am more than ready for some warmer weather.

So, today... I haven't had any breakfast yet, and am enjoying a break (more than you could ever know) from my friend here in Delhi... I had to tell him to go away this morning. Very nice guy; but- let's just say- someone who does not need his own space. I explained how I don't spend this much time with anyone at home, not even people I live with, how I make all my own decisions, when- and if- I want to make them, I will read and write during a meal if I want to, and how I will end up beheading him, slowly and painfully- and with much glee- with my nail clippers, if this continued for one more single minute. ...All's well.

So! Okay. I am going to go fiind some food and some tea, probably buy a couple little things for more than they are worth, write a few postcards (I still have not been to a post office to send any- so far every post office has been a serious journey away from the area of town where I have been actually staying...) and be on my merry way!

Til later, then!
