I wanted to take the train so I could go through the chunnel but the bus was SOOOO much cheaper so I went bought a bus ticket instead.  Turns out they drove the bus right onto a rail carriage and I got to go through the chunnel anyway.

Paris is beautiful.  All the buildings have so much character.  A lot of couples though... clearly a popular place for a honeymoon.  So far I;ve seen the Arc de Tromphe, Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Musee D'Orsay, Sacre Coeur, Effel Tower, Catacombes and Versailles.  Effel Tower and Versailles had HUGE lines.  Glad I didnt come at the peak time.  I also went to see the Moulin Rouge last night which was very random but great.  They fit in contortionists, showgirls, magicians, and a mime into a two hour show. 

My parents arrived in Paris two days ago and we are just about to rent a car to start our road trip.  Today we are off to Mont St Michel to visit the historic abbey and watch the tides.  Mont St Michel is actually and island during high tide and connected to the mainland by sand during low tide.  Unfortunately it is raining today so it may not be the nice drive through the countryside that we hoped for.
