All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go! (Can you hear me singing?)
It's hard to believe that a trip that has been in the works for well over a year is finally here. My eagerness is mixed with a bit of anxiety. I am excited to meet new people, refine my Spanish skills, learn to samba, climb Macchu Picchu and see many amazing landscapes. Talking to other travellers is a great way to fuel enthusiasm, and I've spent my fair share of time on Travelpod's forums. However, mixed with all the wonderful adventure tales I've heard from other travellers are the horror stories of muggings and clever ploys locals orchestrate to get your gear. While misadventures can add to the excitement of the stories I have to share, I hope to be able to recount all of my voyage with a smile on my face!
So, armed with a couple (expensive!) visas, a lonely planet, lots of tips from other travelers, and an incredibly vigilant sense of awareness, Luc (my fiance) and I are ready to set off on one more extended adventure.
When we return in August, the plan is to settle down... for a little while! :)
August is a whole six months away... ready, set.... VAMOS!
