Entry 5 of 92 | show all | print this entry

We've not done too much since our last entry and are still here in Phuket because I have Gastro-enteritis. I've been laid-up since Sunday with stomach cramps, fever, aching, and general malaise. Obviously, I had all of those symptoms with a desperate need to be within diving distance of the toilet!

Still, I have been to the doctors now and have plenty of anti-biotics and other helpful pills, and I feel much better in myself. I have more energy, and the day before yesterday I was able to concentrate enough to read a book. Yesterday I managed to begin eating, (my first food since Sunday) so I hope I am now travelling the road to recovery.

Speaking of travelling, all going well, we aim to move on tomorrow. We will have to truncate some of our visits - we may now only spend 3 days on Koh Samui, but that's the way goes. At least we've had a decent room with a tv for us to be couped up in for the past week.

Andrea has at times become 'stir-crazy' too, but has had the luxury of being able to go out for a walk and get an hour long foot massage! She has been doing very well in her Spanish studies (in preparation for our time in Central and South America), but is driving me mad with her constant gabbling in the language!

Due to the nature of this entry, we thought it best not to illustrate it with photographs - I am sure you can all appreciate that!!!

Dan and Andrea
