Update from Amy,
She is on a 10 day visit to her future home at Anjozorabe, Madagascar. She was really looking forward to visiting the site and learning where the school, post office, etc. are located. It sounded like one of the Malagasy teachers from that town would be traveling with her, but upon reaching the town they would let her try to find everything on her own first. Total immersion in the culture, yikes! She had one day of sickness, but had recovered well and was doing well when we talked to her a week ago. She is pretty sure she will have her own small two room house, running water and flush toilet at this site along with being on the plateau of Madagascar and not too far from the rain forest. They have told her to expect about 60 children in her classroom, so that could be interesting!
The town she is staying in until she moves to Anjozorobe is called Manjakandrina and is outside og the capitol Antananarivo. She said it is very hilly and she's building up the old leg muscles. The soil is also red and she says everyone has some red color on their lower legs wherever they go. We will talk to her next Saturday, August 5th and will update this site soon after. Please keep her in your prayers.

Hi from the Lievrouw's
Hey Amy, Just wanted to let you know that we have been keeping track of your adventure. The kids and I check for word on you almost everyday. What a great example you are to them about following your own path and doing what you need to to be happy. Not to mention helping others. We are so proud of you, and you are in our thoughts and prayers always. Thank you for keeping us updated and good luck with all of those kids. How lucky they are to have you. Love, Dan, Jamie, Collin, Alexa, and McKenna

Hello from home, September 16
Hi, Amy! We've been interested in the news about your teaching assignment. Hope all continues to go well--I'm sure the students will like their teacher from Towanda, IL. Grampa and I think about you and talk about you a lot. We're beginning to see more progress on our new house--carpenters to put the roof on during the next 2 weeks. Everyone here well and hope you will be getting the packages we sent (2 of them). Much love, and hope you have a Happy Birthday on 10/3! Gram and Grampa F.
