Amy called today to let us all know that she made it safely to Johannesburg. I spoke with her this afternoon around 3:30 CST, (10:30 South Africa Time) Amy was in incredible spirits, and sounded like she was having quite an adventure so far.(And it's only day 4!) She described her lodging as a "posh hotel"...but only for 1 night. She sounded confident and explained that she feels like one of the older PCV's on this trip, as many of the other are recent college grads (some in MAY!) She said she feels prepared, and told me of one PCV who didn't bring a sleeping bag. (That might be somthing to pick up...although I guess if you're REALLY roughing it). Anyways, I'll be updating the blog as able with new information and hopefully some pictures soon. Stay tuned! Please keep Amy in your thoughts and your prayers!

HI, AMY! We are sure thinking of you. What an adventure must be unfolding! We hope all is going well, and that you are finding good friends to work with. We want to know what we could send you that you need. Let us know...You are in our prayers every day. God bless! (Everyone here is O.K.) Much love, Grandpa and Gram Freedlund
TO THE BRAVEST GIRL EVER!
HI AMY, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT ALL THE LERDALS ARE PULLING FOR YOU! WE LOVE YOU! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS! I am so happy that I can send messages to you. Don't ever worry about writing us back. We know that you're busy. We just want you to know that on this side of the world there are many who love you! You inspire me to be all that I can be. :) Don't worry, I'm not going to join the Army. :) I can't wait to see all the pictures of this place. I bet that it is pretty much like in the movie. :) Ben and Alex are as cute as ever and are keeping me busy. I use the blanket that you made for Alex everyday. Kirk showed me how to write messages to you (of course). We went to Hooters for lunch today and we saw Jason and Mandy there. Right before seeing them I was thinking of you and not because of your Hooters :). I want to send anything I can to you so please don't be shy and ask for anything. OK, I know what you are thinking and I can't send home. Don't worry so much (easy for me to say) we will all be here when you get back and we will all love you just as much. Just take things slow. You are going through a big life change and us Freedlunds do not handle change very well. :) (easy for me to say, again) I just want you to see what is on the other side of that mountain just like the bear did. (sorry, I hang with kids alot!) If you ever need me to send you teaching supplies, please let me know because it would make me feel like I am helping too. Much love and prayers for you, THE BRAVEST GIRL EVER! GOD BLESS, (Britt)and Kirk, Ben and Alex xxxx and oooooo
