I woke up and thought that I needed to get out fast. Yes, I could loose weight if I stayed here, but I was pretty surprised I didn't catch something. As soon as I said I was leaving they dropped me off in the middle of town with a finger pointing in a general direction towards the bus station. I managed to find it, and get a bus ticket, and get on the right bus without speaking Spanish. They had overbooked the bus, and someone had sat in my allocated seat, so I just put my hat over my eyes and pretended to be asleep. No one could speak English anyway and probably didn't want to try. 4 men stood for all the journey home and I did feel sorry for them.

I gladly got back to the hostel and was welcomed back by my new 'family' - Pedro, Suzannah, Amelie, Erika, David etc. After a good but cold shower (the water heating had packed up - it was the desert after all) I did my usual klutzy thing and spilt a whole jar of salsa all over me, with the help of the Javanese chef. It was actually quite amusing to all, especially as my top was white. I stayed in the room that evening just chilling out and chatting to the girls in my dorm - kind of like a girlie sleep over!

They were all there for a convention but they really weren't boring. Each one of them had decided what they were going to do and stuck with it. Una (Irish) was a nutritional biochemist, Marina (Brazllian) was a something like a physiotherapist but a bit more than that, and Heather (Canadian) studies Beluga Wales. I like to hear their stories of how they decided what they wanted to do with their life as I never had, there are too many choices to be had. That's why, when I was younger, I had lessons for every musical instrument going. Actually, it was probably laziness that made me not stick to anything!
