I missed breakfast today so walked down the streets of Little Italy looking for some good food. On the way I saw Peter (Oz retired Naval Officer) who was going for an all-u-can-eat curry so I joined him. We were there for a bout three hours making sure we could get in as much food as possible - I ate something in one of the curries that was so hot I almost cried! I really like the desert which was like fried cheese balls with something - I love cheese so much.

Peter lent me his bus pass so I got on the bus and went to Ocean Beach at the end of Golden Gate Park, and walked back through the park which is about 3 miles long. The park was actually designed and landscaped, it used to be sand dunes so although I am not into that sort of thing it was interesting to see the different trees and plants. There are museums and things in the park but I didn't go to any of them, the weather wasn't that nice so I didn't want to be outside for long.

I walked up 17th street (at the bottom of The Twin Peaks the hills were so steep I had to use my hands to push my legs down)to The Castro - the gay area of town, where there are lots of cafe's and gyms and rainbow flags everywhere. I had a quick look round then returned on the tram to the hostel.

As it was St Patricks day there was a pub crawl arranged for that evening. I joined lots of people on the walk down to the first street party but it was so busy you couldn't move, let alone get a beer so Michelle (Ozzie Piercer with dreds), Valentina and I found an Irish pub in one of the back streets that wasn't so busy. It had an old guy who was playing an organ and everyone was singing along, so it had a good feel to it. We stayed there for a couple of drinks then went up to O'Reillys in Little Italy where there was another street party. After a few drinks there Michelle and I dared ourselves to go to a peep show (as the hostel is in the red light district), so we did. It was very funny and the girls kept talking to us through the windows as we were travellers!

We returned to the hostel to see if we could find anyone - it was only about 9pm but we thought it was a lot later. After agreeing for MIchelle to pierce my belly button (which she didn't by the way) I passed out, blaming it on the sun but it was actually the Drambuie's I had drunk earlier!
