I am writing Amy's travel blog for her today. It is very late and we have just returned to the Hotel. I have sent all the girls straight to bed. The girls were at school by 7.30am as required - Andrew and I dropped them off and returned to the Hotel for a leisurely breakfast. Joan and Madeline picked the girls up at 11.40 and took them to the CCTV tower, (It looks like Sydney's centrepoint tower - has an observation deck etc, while Andrew and I meet Ian at the Oriental Kenzo Plaza. Ian had organised for Andrew to use Jane Zhang's dental surgery
to give his teeth a checkup and a clean. It was quite an experience.
We both took lots of photos of each other. Ian kindly shouted Jane, Andrew and I a fabulous traditional lunch in the plaza restaurant.

Amy and Laura gave the chn in their class an Australian flag, temporary tattoo. The kids loved them - I'm not sure what their parents will think when they arrive home with tattoos on their faces. On Wenesday's the school finishes early (3pm) to allow time for staff meetings. We had been told the Chairman wanted to see us after school, and as he doesn't speak any English and we don't speak any Chinese we asked Rebecca if she could join us to translate. After almost an hour of running around the school, we located the Chairman, and he didn't wish to see us. His daughter had made it up. As we left the school, Amy noticed the Chairman of the school and his daughter - also leaving. It appeared that the daughter was getting a real tongue lashing from her father - no doubt for mucking us around. We all felt sorry for Rebecca, who had completely wasted her time.
It was then off to the Silk market
for the girls to spend some of their money. Madeline, who by now is a seasoned bargainer, was able to take our novices under her wing and help them buy at the "cheaper cheaper" price. Our very first (believe it or not)McDonald's meal in China followed before a very crowded trip on the subway home.
