Today was not such a good day. We all woke up super early to get to the plane. We made our way to the airport and had heaps of time to relax at the gate. We played on the computers and other electronic devices until we saw uncle Steve and Lachlan coming towards us at the gate. We were really excited to see them, and we quickly caught up. When we were boarding, Lachlan had realised that he had misplaced his mobile phone. He went to find it, and uncle steve stayed behind to help him, but by the time that the phone was found, the plane had already taken off. Aunty Robynne, Mum, Dad, Laura, Hayley, Elyse, Ashleigh, Craig and I all landed in Beijing, but uncle steve and Lachlan were still in Hong Kong. They tried to get on a later flight, but they were all booked up for today and tomorrow. It is just awful for them on their first overseas trip to be stranded in Hong Kong and we all feel terrible over here. They are goigng to try and get a flight tomorrow, so I will keep everyone posted.
We arrived in our hotel and got settled in. We worked out the sleeping arrangements, which proved a more difficult task when we realised that the rooms were all king-sized double beds. We managed to get three rooms with two king-sized single beds in each, which made things easier.
Dad, Hayley and I went out for a walk to buy sim cards and food. We came back and soon left to go out to dinner again. We went to a local restaurant, who were pretty excited to have us. We orderded some really yummy food, and we had our own little room away from the real restaurant. We ate a lot of chillies, as we had assumed that they were dishes with capsisum, not chilli. We had fun, but it was a little awkward because the waitress just waited at the back of the room, watching us, ready for any little thing that we had indicated for.
After dinner, we took a walk to the supermarket and back. There were many people who set up stalls outside there so we chatted with them, bought a few things and returned. Robynne and Liam took a tuk-tuk back to the hotel for fun. We arrived back at the hotel and had a swim before we went into our own rooms to go to sleep.
