Colonia del Sacramento
Population 22000 on the water with a pretty little penisula, old forts, lighthouse, old houses, cobblestone streets, plazas, all leading.... accompanied with the history of the place to a spot in the UNESCO book.
I always expect something great when I realize that a town or place is protected by UNESCO. I think of places like OLD Havana and Mutchu Pitchu.
We had to cross the Rio De La Plata (River) from Tigre to here which is supposedly the widest river in the world. Basically it was like crossing an ocean because you could not see the sides oh yeah and the water was brown.
This place was full of Museo (Museums). It was a charming place founded by portugese settlers. It was very overpriced and touristy but all the same quite nice.
Dad and I decided to get our haircut and where still on a buzz from the football in Argentina. Believe it or not we managed to strike up a conversation about football with the barber and everyone else in the salon.
