After an overnight bus trip we arrived and in Arequipa and went straight to meet our tour group and went to the Colca Canyon which is the second deepest canyon in the world - the deepest one is beside it and is only 163 meters deeper.
The canyon was amazing, we went through many traditional villages and saw heaps of llamas and alpaca. It looks just like you imagine the mountains of Switzerland to look like - it was absolutely stunning. We also went to the edge of the canyon and saw condors flying. They were huge with an average wingspan of 3 meters.
We ate some alpaca meat here and although I didn't like it, Dave seemed to think it was okay. We also checked out the hotsprings which we thought were better than the ones at Banos in Ecuador. Dave went out and checked out the local night life.
The tour was good although we would probably recommend a hike through the canyon to really get to experience it.
