Show trip route
The show the girls went to was so so. The all came out with different ideas about what is was they had seen. As the show was in the Aztec language. .
The accomodation was shifty
We woke fairly early and visited a local village where we were Amy and I and Jim and Janine were made to moke up a wedding with all the costumes and the like. We where also made to toast with Tequilla which when coupled with my shenanigans the night before was darn difficult. Anyway the village was really interesting and the house we looked through very basic. The kitchen still ran of a wood fire and there was a rat drying in the plants for dinner.
We then headed to Chouloula in our Comby Van, which is another small town just outside of Saint Christobal. Here the locals still practised ancient pagan traditions mixed with Catholic beliefs. Or so the sacrificing of the chickens and wiping it all over themselves in the church was explained. I sensed a weird vibe in the small village which centred around a market place. I have experienced something like this is Malaysia (Taman Negara). The locals did not seem to interested nor hospitable.
Anyways we knicked of from there and visted a local canyon which was spectaular. Crocodiles dawned the banks with vultures and many many birds on the water which the speed boat driver delgihted in boating right through the middle of them. We also saw many natural formations which where awe inspiring (overhangs, sheer cliffs, natural christmas tree formed by Moss and the like). All up it lasted about 2.5Hrs with the half way point being a hydro electric dam. I needed to go to the toilet about half way through the trip so we stopped at a restaurant overlooking the river. The restraunt sold grog so we all got a beer and drank it for the rest of the trip.
So an eventfull Saint Chirstobal.
