We are writing to you from Hong Kong China and what a place it is.
We arrived in Hong Kong at around 8pm after an 8 hour and an emotional goodbye with friends and family in Brisbane. We discovered that Hong Kong is a city of bright lights, fog and water after catching a bus from the airport to our guest house in Tsim Tsim Tsui in Kowloon.
Our bus dropped us off at the street corner near our guest house so we had to hoof it down the street keeping our eyes peeled for Lee Garden Guest House. We finally found the entrance to the hotel which consisted of a small door on the street surrounded by shops selling everything from reindeer antlers to the last Dior watch.
The only thing I can say about our room is that it was tiny. So tiny that it only just fit David and I and the bed in. We had our own bathroom in which the shower was over the toilet. Needless to say we did not use the shower that night.
Once we arrived we went for a walk down to the harbour walk which was simply beautiful. Hong Kong is a beautiful city especially by night, its called Pearl of the Orient. All you can see as far as the eye can see are lights on highrises reflecting on both sides of the harbour. It was especially colourful because a lot of the buildings had lighting designs to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Grabbed some BBQ chicked and Beef from the side of the street which set us back about $10 Aus.
Anyway I'm going to bed because I'm exhausted.
Amy (and David).
