The next morning, we got a boat (a very bumpy speed boat!!!!) on our tour of the Phi Phi Islands. Firstly, we stopped at Bamboo Island and did some amazing snorkelling, so many different types and colours. We went on to Pi Leh Lagoon, (which is where some shots from the film The Beach were shot). Stunningly beautiful also. Then we snorkelled again in Lohsamah Bay. Then we went round to Maya Bay (where lots of filming of The Beach took place) and took lots of pictures. The sand was the finest sand we'd ever encountered - like sieved flour!! Then we went to Phi Phi Don for lunch, and walked around a bit. Then we stopped off at Mosquito Island on the way home and did some more snorkelling!! Then we came back and went for an Italian meal with 2 of the girls our age from the trip.
The next morning, we did some more shopping and then spent a lot of the day at the beach :-) :-) :-). We went for dinner as a group for our last dinner in Thailand, plus it was one of the girl's birthdays from our group. We ate at a restaurant by the sea which was lovely and romantic for me and Em lol. We also saw that they put candles in a lantern and send it up into the air - not UFO's like we'd previously thought!
Yesterday we set off on our long trip to Malaysia! The mini van was very cool and had a dvd player, so we watched Batman Begins! Legend. Stopped off at somewhere to eat just before the border (last food in Thailand! :-( ) Then crossed the border and got stamps in our passports!! Then we drove to our hotel.
After our overnight train, we said goodbye to our leader and some of our group and went back to our hotel - The New World Lodge. We went to the weekend market, which was the biggest market ever!! We had a banana pancake (plain for Em) and fruit drink, which was delicious. Did some shopping, and then went back to the hotel and met our new group for the rest of our trip in Asia. We went out for a really nice meal with some of the girls from the group. The next day with a couple from our old group, we visited the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. They were very impressive and stunning. Then we got a tuk tuk that broke down in the middle of the road and dropped us in the wrong place!! We then went to Bangkok train station for our next overnight train to Surat Thani. Amy made a fool of herself, because she put on her bag and toppled over backwards at the sheer weight!!! All the Thai families were laughing! The train was very hot, because it had no air con, plus it was 16 and a half hours long!!! Then we drove to Morning Mist Resort near to Khao Sok National Park which was utterly beautiful. We loved it there and the food was amazing!! That day we did tubing (rubber rings) down a river. For some reason, Amy shot off in the distance, and Emma's refused to move. Was a very funny activity! The next day we went to Monkey Temple and saw lots of monkeys, which were so gorgeous, and we saw a baby one, that was less than a week old. We went for an independent walk (no guide) in the National Park, which was lovely. The next day we drove to Ao Nang - Krabi. We went to the beach and had a "swim" because it was more like a crawl as it was shallow for a ridiculously long distance! Did some shopping and aerobics in our room. Went out for dinner that evening and ate barracuda and a roti (similar to a pancake).
