Familiar Face!!!!

Do you have any idea what it's like to be or actually live in a place where everyone looks at you like you're nuts on a daily basis? You say ski and everyone thinks snow. You go out all night and go straight to class and people act like that's not normal. They see your blonde pony tail and accuse you of being a cheerleader! And above all, your sarcasm doesn't work in your second language! I'm actually kinda over it but all of that just added the joy of seeing Cris Kodiak's beautiful midwestern face in the A Courna train station!!! So he's traveling Europe and his travel buddy Adam just left him to start a big boy job in the US. Plans were, visit Spain Cities: Barcelona, Madrid, you know the usual. Then we came in contact.... Wanna visit Santiago? I got nothin' but time baby! Yea! So theres nothing wrong skipping one day of classes to meet a good friend and hang out on the beach all day, is there? NO. So, I saw A Coruna for the first time in the day light and we walked all over the place. We waded out to these rocks and sat watching waves and chatting for hours. "Hey, I've had worse Mondays." Then I brought him back to my new homeland to explore Santiago. We went out with my buddies here. (I had to do a little translating in a heated futbol convo. between Kodiak and one of my Brazilian friends, I felt so useful!) So while I was in class the next day, Cris checked out the sweet cathedral and actually went to mass! What a good little catholic boy! So instead of making this the longest travel log ever... I'm sure you'll hear the stories down the road.. I'm just gonna say when we weren't too busy ruining eachothers lives (aka. bad haircuts, failing tests, near eviction, African kidnap plans, and strep throat) We were cooking amazing meals, drinking way too much amazing wine, chillin' by the ocean, talking about skiing and telling so many ski team stories that the people around us (who didn't have their jaws on the floor) were laughing to tears, teaching english lessons to my niños, attending Spanish literature class, walking the town enjoying the rain, listening to Günther, drunk emailing Surdej, discusing travel plans... and just living!
P.S. you should check out Cris's travelpod too! It's hilarious!
