Ok, so this year is different... Very different. And I didn't exactly expect it to be the
same. I mean, a lot has happened to all
of us in the past year. Danny had a
baby, George went to the states for a total of 2 semesters, Andy has moved on
to another club, Tamara is in Holand, I graduated and Stu has opened a new pro
shop. That pretty much makes up last
years gang. This year, throw in a non
skier bar tender, a crazy Israeli boat driver, a show skiing marketing director
from Purdue, Catie Gillian in the new pro shop and another caravan. That makes for a lot of changes. The staff ski time is restricted to
6-10am. 7 days a week. HOWEVER... we also have open water swim four
out of 7 days a week from 6-9. So...
when do we ski again?? Theres just no
structure here. Things just haven't been
thought through properly. I mean, we
cope all right. Last year was ski ski
ski, train train train. This year
is...well, party party party... ski ski...wish I could ski... But that's ok. There's more of us. Last year there were 3. So we have so much fun every day but Monday,
Wednesday, Friday=ski days= 7 am dock party.
The alarm usually goes off around 6:00-6:30. Catie and I open our eyes to the our Wakey
Wakey play list on the ipod alarm, hit the kettle and I do my hip stretches and
we sip coffee waiting for Or to pop out of his caravan fully suited up
(wetsuit, boardies.. everything) screaming "waterski, come on!" in an Israeli
accent but using British lingo. After loading up on coffee, we turn on the
sound system in the club house, warm up the boats, pump the house music, dance
around the patio like we're in a night club with our pjs on and then go for a
few slalom sets. Its a blast. Some others have shown up early in the
morning and the looks we get are priceless.
So that's my new training regime.
