Tagged as India's most romantic city, Udaipur fits the bill - with its hillside fort and lake palace all nestled within the imposing surrounding mountains it makes an impressive city.
The narrow streets and sights were also the setting for the Bond film Octopussy, which we duely watched in a travellers cafe at its daily showing! Not so adventurous as fighting evil, our activity mainly consisted of eating - however, we did the cooking as well, as under the instruction of Shashi we learnt how to cook Samosas, curry, naan bread and chapati.
