Out West
Entry 55 of 66 | show all | print this entry |
On our trek Jaisalmer is the furthest west we will head in India. The hill top fort rose like a ship on the horizon as the train chugged across the desert from Jodhpur.
1000 people still live within the walls of the fort which shows intricate sandstone carvings and ornate Havelis (merchant houses). A sedate town to meander around we watched the sunset, ate curry and organised our next adventure...a trip into the desert...on camel back!
