The Camel Fair

Venturing in to Rajhastan, we headed straight to Pushkar, on the train, to experience the hulabaloo of the Camel Fair.
Hundreds and thousands of livestock traders meet outside Pushkar to trade camels, cattle and horses. There is an electric atmosphere helped by the pilgrims that flock to the town to bath in its holy lake. The town is a Temple town to the Hindu god Brahma and it is good luck to submerge yourself in the water, and also it seems a good place to wash your clothes. Despite the numbers, the picturesque town has a good feel with a more touristy aura coming from the bazaars and restaurants catering to western tastes. Makes a change to spicey curry! Delhi Belly (reply) Nov 6, 2006 06:02 EST by lisacdouglas
How svelt and slim do you both look in that picture of you both on the rooftops! I hope you haven't had a dose of the Delhi Belly and that's why you are looking so thin. I am sure it is just the travelling lifestyle and the warm weather (you'll have a bit of shock when you get back here, its positively baltic at the moment).
Hope all is well with you both. Things are well with me. Back in ... show all
