Last Day in London:(
Entry 14 of 50 | show all | print this entry |
Today we got to sleep in a bit before we headed out to the city!! We just hit up the last few things we wanted to see in London!! Walking through Hyde Park was soo pretty with all the trees!! Everyone is out playing fútbol or frisbee, people on bikes, lots of people running, and even people just sitting enjoying a day in the park!! It was nice because you dont see that a lot in the US. Our first stop was definitely the guards at St. James' Palace!!! Yes, the guards you can take pictures with!!! We basically took pictures with the guard for a good hour!! He wasnt aloud to smile, grim, nod, talk, or anything, so we joked around with him the whole time!! When we were the only ones around him a couple times, he would answer the questions we asked him!! This was probably the best part of the day!!! lots of fun!!
Then we headed over to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey to take some pictures and check that out!! We just bummed around too, because we had figured out our way around by then. After an afternoon full of walking, we lucked out on getting back on the Big Bus Company bus, our tour bus that had ended for us, and they didnt look at our tickets, so we cruised around on that for the remainder of the afternoon. We were all pretty tired and wanted to watch the Super Bowl but couldnt stay up long enough to watch it. Plus, we had to wake up at 2:45 the following morning to walk to the bus to get to the airport!! We did go out to eat at an Italian restaurant. The food in England is similar to ours so we really couldnt go out for an actual English meal!! One of our tour guides told us that Indian food is very big there though!!
Overall London is huge with lots to see and do!! The only place we didnt get to see, but wanted to, was Kensington Gardens. We drove past it on the bus, but we wanted to walk through it and see Princess Diana's house up close!! Oh well, next time I guess!! And as you can tell already I am sure, tea was the big thing in London!! We all must have drank at least 7 glasses a day!! Now I am hooked on it back in Spain already!!
