Can you say best wedding ever?!? Well, I may have a bias considering it was mine, haha. But seriously, not a thing in the world could of made it better. Phew. I'm exhausted.
September 22, 2007, was an absolutely beautiful day - minus the morning rain clouds, 40% chance of rain prediction and the afternoon showers. To say the least, I was a little nervous about the outdoor ceremony. However, the rain turned out to be a perfect blanket over the golf course, washing away all the dust and turning everything a vibrant green. Even the sunset followed suit by shining rays of red, purple and orange through the fluffy clouds and then finally sinking below the blue waves. Amazing and definitely one for the history books. Everything was perfect. There aren't words to describe the feeling you get when you're walking down the isle, arm in arm with your proud father, looking into all the eyes of your dearest family and friends, and then they give you a standing ovation and start cheering!! I'm truely blessed with the worlds best friends and most caring family, including my entire new family on the Faulkner side. What an experience.
Now that the wedding is over, a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and placed on my back...or backpack if you will. Coincidentally, one of Rory's best friends is moving to San Diego and wants to rent our place with all the furniture in it! Thanks JT! So all we have to do is pack the personal belongings and store them in the garage. This may sound easy, but let me assure you, it's not. I never realized how much stuff I actually have. I think it's time to give GoodWill a big surprise.
We leave from LA on Monday night, taking the red eye to Miami. From there we hop on a plane to Bogota, Columbia and start the adventure of a lifetime. My first goal - learn to speak Spanish. My second goal - eat tons of ceviche. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. So...here's to our safe travels and crazy adventures!
