Well, it's the day before my 50th birthday and Jonnene's taking me to Busselton! It's a small town about 3 hours drive south of Perth. I visited there back in 2003 and I'm happy to go back again. On the way down, however, we go further south to Margaret River and do the touristy thing there. It's really amazing to see all the construction that's going on in the country south of Perth from my last visit but we eventually got into the rural areas.
We came into Margaret River and parked the Forrester downtown first chance we got. Took a brief walk thru part of the main drag, found the public toilets and then headed for something to eat at a nice little restaurant we had eaten at before. Then it was off to walk about the main street and visit the shops like good tourists are supposed to do! I usually don't mind checking out the shops but it's much more interesting with Jonnene around. I know more about some of the things you find in these shops then most men (I guess I've paid attention during my life) but she adds much more to the excursions.
We also got to drive around the area a bit before we decided it was time to get to our bed & breakfast site up in Busselton. The town means something to both of us for different reasons but the important thing is that we both like the place. We settled in at the Observatory Guesthouse on Brown Street. A very nice place with 4 available rooms, a balcony (too cold to use) out front, very nice landscaping, and parking in the back. It's within an easy walk to the beach and the famous Busselton Jetty. After a brief rest we went to eat at Jonnene's cousin's house in town. Ah, but before that, without rearranging sentences, we walked down to the jetty and saw a wonderful sunset. Pictures are attached to this posting. After our dinner, we took a long walk in the dark around downtown and then settled in for a cozy long night's sleep.
