For some reason, when I think about setting off tomorrow, the words I would have for my feelings (mainly excitement) are dislocated and only the  Divine Comedy song-- "Tonight We Fly"--comes to mind. That, and the Boondock Saints theme (for obvious reasons).

I think I'm "thought out" from the past month...

Which is why IRELAND is (to me) the best possible place for my lamely exhausted self to be heading. In just 7 days who knows what I will see... the brief reading I've done has been exactly that--brief. This time, this trip, I really just want to sit back and fall into the country (or as the song in the title would sugges, fly into the experience of Ireland).

Not even a question of want; rather, neccessity. Yes, there really is something about this trip that feels neccessary.

I can almost taste the milky Guinness, and see the sprawling green hills. [note to self: I need to look up more adjectives to describe hills--rolling, nestled, springy...etc. are going to get old fast in this place]

Apparently (i'm citing Lonely Planet here), Ireland has two distinct personalities. I feel like every city I read about in LP is described in this way. At the same time, I'm excited to discover what these distinct attributes consist of--something like old versus new, I suspect. I love that.

Speaking of personalities, I'm also looking forward to getting to reconnect with mine, and with my dear mommy's. Can't imagine what could be more helpful than some heavy pints, long bus rides, open fields, and relaxed (read--organized by someone else) days.

Hopefully I'll be able to write in here as we go along, (and I make more insightful or at least interesting observations! :) ) Irish countryside and free time should provide plenty of inspiration.
