Always bad on an empty stomach when you want to eat everything but have no energy to make any of it! So we ended up with fish fingers, mashed potato and baked beans...TOTAL WINNER!
Leftovers for lunch the following day,
we got up early and plodded around in the rain for hours checking out the local life.
Met more cheerful locals and saw a blues band on the waterfront. Went to a very cool seaside cafe with the most strange but amazing macaroon slice.
Walked around some more, checking out the totem poles surrounding the Victoria BC museum.
More live music in the evening and all in all a very chilled place with immaculately kept gardens and a very cultural feel....
Arriving back in Vancouver, we dropped the car off and took a train/bus/ferry/bus to Victoria on Vancouver Island. It's a 1h30 ferry journey and we were happy to snooze a little! Stayed at James Bay. We had an apartment suite which the hostel rent out at the same price so we took advantage of the kitchen and headed to the supermarket.
